The School D. Carlos, is a grouping of schools consisting of: I Pre school; Primary school; 2nd and 3rd cycles and Professional Courses. Are part of this group the schools: School with 2nd and 3rd cycles and Professional Courses D. Carlos I (company headquarters); Pre school D. Carlos I; Primary school EB1 D. Carlos I; Pre school de Várzea de Sintra; Primary school EB1 de Várzea de Sintra; Pre school Lourel; Primary school EB1/JI de Lourel; Pre school of Ral.
The group maintains a protocol with the educational services of the Sintra Prison (EPS) for the teaching of Adult Education and Training (EFA), has a partnership with the Sintra Conservatory of Music, The conservatory of dance and is a reference school for students with multideficiency and deafblindness and Early Intervention and having a Specialized Attention Unit. It teaches vocational education, combating early school leaving and providing a Specialized Attendance Unit with adequate levels of employability in the labor market.
The school promotes new learning practices and learning quality. The innovative and research-based materials and the innovative pedagogies applied in a different learning environment have the purpose of fostering the acquisition of competences in STEAM, taking into account their link to the arts, creativity, innovation, human rights, etc.
The school Grouping benefits from a staff and motivated direction in the development of projects of pedagogic intervention, of local, national scope and international, has infrastructures with spaces for the development of European projects such as library and resource center, computer network with computers available for students in specific rooms, computers with a screen projector and wireless access in all rooms of the host school.
